The audio library of MVGYOSZ was established on the Hermina Street 21 in 1961. It has moved to the hall of MVGYOSZ at the beginning of 1970’s. There were only borrowable books listen with spool tapes until the middle of 1970’s. Cassette recorders came up after this. It was about 10 years when were spool tapes and cassette recorders too in use. Finally spool tapes went out of use in 1989. The first audio book on CD was got into the store of library in 2000.
Library was restored in 1993 because the stores were so large and overgrew their shelves. We got the moveable shelf system which has geared up the free storage place.
We try to body our library for claims of our readers. In the audio library you can find Hungarian and foreign classic novels, works of modern authors, travel descriptions, documental works and many books for children.
This is a very popular service for the members of MVGYOSZ, we have 2606 enrollment readers. Each of the members are not regular readers, there are about 880 people who regularly borrow books in every six week. The rest of the readers come to once or twice annually. We always try to improve the list of the required readings to help the students.
We feel ourselves lucky because at the moment we have 18 warm readers. Most of them are young and they are ready for read books in any theme if it is necessary.
